OCT 15 … HOOVER DAM … Breakfast and this morning we visit the amazing Hoover Dam for a tour of this engineering marvel that uses the power generated by the Colorado River to produce electricity for this area.  Just the gigantic size of the facility is unbelievable. OCT 16… LONDON BRIDGE … Breakfast and we depart for Arizona and Lake Havasu.  It is here that the LONDON BRIDGE of Lake Havasu resides, the 2nd most visited tourist site in the state. This bridge built in 1831 and spanned the Thames River in London was replaced by the British and sold to an Arizona investor in 1968. The Bridge was dismantled and shipped to America where it was put back together and rests along the lake. After time in this scenic setting we continue to Phoenix for the evening.  (B)

OCT 17OLD TUCSONOur trail continues eastward across the Arizona desert with huge Saguaro Cactus that can grow up to 40 greeting us along the highway. A special stop is made to experience the “Spirit of the Old West” with a visit to Old Tucson – one of Arizona’s top Wild West attractions! Step back in time as you make your way through town, walking the same streets made famous by movie legends such as John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Elizabeth Taylor, Steve Martin, Sharon Stone and Martin Short. Site of more than 400 films and commercial productions, we have lunch in the ”old town”. Later we travel across New Mexico for an overnight in El Paso, Texas. (B,L)

OCT 18 …  SAN ANTONIO … After breakfast, we travel across the expanse of the Lone Star State of Texas, through cattle ranches, and prairies of tumble weed, and into the Hill Country. Later in the afternoon we arrive in the lovely city of San Antonio for a welcome TWO-NIGHT stay near the River Walk. Dinner tonight beside the San Antonio River.  (B,D)

OCT 19 …   THE ALAMO & RIVER WALK … San Antonio is a charming city of Spanish missions, outdoor cafes along the famed Paseo Del Rio, and western history.  We will visit the most famous mission of Texas, the Alamo, a National Shrine dedicated to American independence.  The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy this lovely city…try the trolley for an easy way to see more of the city, take a water taxi along the river, or just enjoy the River Walk! (B)

OCT 20 … CAJUN COUNTRY … We travel back across Texas, through Houston, and into Louisiana.  The colorful Cajun Country is our destination as we arrive in Lafayette. Dinner should be lots of fun as we dine on Cajun Cuisine and dance to the energetic sounds of Cajun music. (B,D)
