FEB 27 … We travel south to the western area of Florida and arrive in Homosassa Springs State Park for a chance to witness the wildlife of this lovely area.  Every winter, a large group of manatees make a yearly pilgrimage up to the warm water of this area.  This group of West Indian Manatees is a playful bunch which typically show up in numbers of 50 or more.  From December through April the manatees are easy to spot.  We have time in the wildlife park before checking into our hotel. Tonight is a special treat at the Hudson Palace Dinner Theatre.  Following a delicious meal our group will enjoy the “Marvelous Wonderettes” for a fun evening of entertainment.  (D)

FEB 28 … Not far away is the most interesting area of Tarpon Springs. Settled by Greek immigrants, they discovered a wealth of sponges growing in the tributaries of the Gulf of Mexico. The town grew up around this industry. Our group will board a sightseeing boat for a sponge diving exhibition and return to the mainland for lunch at one of the popular Greek restaurants. After time along the shops of the sponge docks, we depart for the east coast of Florida. A special stop is made at Parksdale Farms Market for a Strawberry Shortcake treat before arriving in New Smyrna Beach. The Springhill Suites, nestled in this picturesque coastal village is our beachfront home that offers easy access to the ocean, shops, restaurants, galleries, and museums. You will stay on quaint Flagler Ave, the main street running from the Intercoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean.  Take a stroll to the beach and discover 13 miles of stunning white sand, or explore the boutiques and galleries and relax with a coffee at one of many sidewalk cafés and ice cream shops along Flagler Ave.  Dinner on your own.     (B,L)

MAR 1 … Breakfast and we drive the short distance to Titusville to visit the KENNEDY SPACE CENTER … Explore the home of the Space Shuttle, witness the history of America’s Space Program, be a part of an I-Max Experience, and see items from different flights into the beyond. After the tour, in route back to our hotel we stop at DIXIE CROSSROADS for dinner. This is your chance to try their famous and delicious “Rock Shrimp”.       (B,D)
MAR 2 … No rush this morning, so enjoy this wonderful location before we board our motorcoach for the return home.  What a fun and entertaining time this has been on our winter getaway.  (B)
