SEP 18 TRAIN RIDE to VIRGINIA … This morning we board the PALMETTO for a train ride from Savannah, GA to Richmond, VA.   What a nostalgic experience as we take to the rail and travel the Eastern Seaboard thru the Carolinas. (D) 

SEP 19LANCASTER COUNTY … Breakfast and we motorcoach into Pennsylvania to Lancaster Country, home to a large Amish Community. This afternoon we take in a musical performance of the newest production at the Sight & Sound Theatre … QUEEN ESTHER.  Experience one of the most riveting Bible stories of the Old Testament as it comes to life with magnificent sets, special effects and live animals! After the show, we sit down to a delicious Amish Meal to top off a great day.  (B,D)

SEP 20FINGER LAKES … Continuing our journey north, we travel into scenic upstate New York and the Finger Lakes area of the state.  This lovely region of idyllic settings, lush vineyards, and clear lakes offers so much as we stop in the village of Skaneatles. This quaint town is a step back in time as we cruise on Lake Skaneateles. Later a wine tasting at one of the many vineyards in the area. Overnight in the area.  (B)

SEP 21 … “MAID OF THE MIST” CRUISE … On we travel across western New York, passing Buffalo and we stop just before crossing the border into Canada. Here we board the “Maid Of The Mist” boat for a thrilling cruise up to the roaring Niagara Falls.  Later we cross the Rainbow Bridge into Canada for arriving in Niagara Falls for a 2 night stay.  (B)

SEP 22SKYLON TOWER  … A local guide will meet us and host a very informative tour of the Falls and surrounding area. We will witness the grandeur of Niagara, see the Floral Clock, and learn of the rich history of this resort area. You will have time to explore the village surrounding the Falls, take photos, shop, or try your luck in the casino. Tonight, experience a wonderful dinner atop Skylon Tower, a restaurant perched 775 feet above the base of the Falls.  (B,D)

SEP 23 … WARTHER MUSUEM … Clearing USA Customs, we travel into the rolling hills of Ohio.  In Dover, we visit the Warther Museum, where Master Carver Ernest Warther presents a display of hand-carved wonders.  Using only his knife, file, and native ingenuity, he has carved the history of steam locomotives, ivory collections of Great Events in American History, and being a great admirer of Abraham Lincoln, at the age of 80 carved an 8 foot ebony and ivory replica of the Lincoln Funeral Train.  You will have a chance to stroll through the Swiss-style flower gardens and visit Mrs. Warther’s Button House, a collection of 73,000 buttons arranged in beautiful designs. Before leaving the area, the group has an early dinner at the Dutch Valley Restaurant of Sugar Creek for a meal with local foods.  Overnight in Marietta / Parkersburg along the Ohio River.   (B,D)

SEP 24 … “BIG RIVER” Musical Show … Breakfast, & our journey continues through the mountains of West Virginia. Traveling on to Wytheville, VA, we arrive in time for a delicious Luncheon and Matinee performance at the Wohlfahrt Haus Theatre. The show for today is “BIG RIVER” from Broadway with Mark Twain’s Huck Finn taking a musical journey down the Mississippi.  (B,D)

SEP 25 … Breakfast, & we continue our journey south, down Fancy Gap and across the Carolinas. Later we return to our homes, with fond memories of a travel experience to Niagara Falls and lots more.  (B)
