OCT 10SEDONA …We meet  for our flight across country as we arrive in Phoenix, Arizona.  Our group will motorcoach north to quaint Sedona, the artist community nestled in the red rock landscape of Arizona. Enjoy our Welcome Dinner her before we drive up Oak Creek Canyon to Flagstaff for 2 nights. (D)

OCT 11GRAND CANYON … Today is certainly a highlight as we visit the Grand Canyon. With a stop at the Cameron Trading Post for authentic Indian crafts and souvenirs, we arrive at Desert View for a drive along the rim of one of the greatest natural wonders in the World, the Grand Canyon ...  277 miles long, 10 miles wide, and over 1 mile deep.  Arriving in the Bright Angel village along the Canyon, you have some time to browse at the rim, take pictures, before we return to Flagstaff. (B)

OCT 12 … ON THE WAY TO NEW MEXICO …   we travel through this colorful, arid part of Arizona with its unique terrain. Riding along the foothills of the San Juan Mountains, we enter New Mexico, Land of Enchantment.  Our overnight stay is in the old Spanish city of Albuquerque during the week of their annual 2017 INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FIESTA. Tonight we witness the amazing SPECIAL SHAPES GLOWDEO, one of the most popular events with a multitude of different shaped and multi-color Hot air balloons rising into the evening sky.      (B,D)        

OCT 13 BALLOON LAUNCH … The Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is one of America’s most unique events, with over 600 balloons featured in this week of activities, rides, races, and ascensions. The atmosphere is festive and fun, as we start early.  You will be a part of this very exciting festival as you witness hundreds of colorful balloons rising above the mountains, with a Laser Light Show and competition.  After this amazing experience, we board our Motorcoach for a drive to Santa Fe to for lunch and a visit to the Loretta Chapel to see its historic staircase. Later in the afternoon we continue to Colorado and a 2 night stay in Durango. (B)

 OCT 14... SILVERTON TRAIN RIDE …Today should be another special highlight as we board a narrow-gauge train for a ride through the mountains of southern Colorado. Winding its way through narrow passes, along the valley floor one moment, and climbing to the mountain crest the next, we arrive in the old mining town of Silverton, hidden in a wonderful valley.  There is only the main street that is paved in this historic village, but you should enjoy the shops and atmosphere of this unique setting. Later we ride our motorcoach back to Durango with some leisure time to visit the many Victorian shops of the village.  (B)

OCT 15 ...  MONUMENT VALLEY … This morning we travel to Monument Valley as we enter Utah in route to Moab. We enjoy lunch at Goulding's Lodge in Navajo country before a tour of Monument Valley Tribal Park. You will enjoy fascinating geological and historical information pertaining to this amazing area also known as the “Land of Long Shadows”.  The guides are local Navajos that grew up in and around the Monument Valley area. During the tours, they will share interesting facts about the valley and its areas of interest. You will have the opportunity to stop and gaze at the panorama where John Ford, John Wayne, and countless other historical figures of the Southwest have left their footprints. Don’t forget your camera! Later we travel north to the town of Moab for the evening. Tonight highlights a BBQ on the banks of the Colorado River followed by a Jet Boat Cruise to witness a magnificent Sound & Light Show over the water on the canyon walls. (B,L,D)

OCT 16 ARCHES NATIONAL PARK …  Arches National Park is very special … weathering forces have cut natural arches, windows, and spires into the sandstone, the largest found anywhere in America.  So far over 200 openings large enough to be called arches have been discovered. Landscape Arch, believed to be the longest natural stone span in the world has a length of 291 feet. We will visit Devil’s Garden, and the Fiery Furnace, and Tower Arch. Overnight in Grand Junction, Colorado.  (B)

OCT 17 ... TRAIN ACROSS THE ROCKIES … This morning we board the California Zephyr for a spectacular ride across the Rocky Mountains to Denver.  With unbelievable sights across the Continental Divide, we dine on the train, enjoy the natural beauty of Colorado, before meeting our motorcoach at the station. We overnight near the airport. (B,D)

OCT 18 ... It has been a wonderful trip to spectacular sights and fun festivals in the west. This morning we catch our flight back home. (B)
