DAY 1... Departing by deluxe private motorcoach, our journey through the Carolinas will take us into Virginia for our first night. This evening we will get to know each other better at our Welcome Dinner. (D)
DAY 2... The Easter
n Seaboard provides our vista today as we continue northward with a lunch stop in Philadelphia and a chance to see the Liberty Bell. Later this afternoon, we traverse New York City and arrive in Connecticut for an overnight in the "Yankee" state. (B,D)
DAY 3... Continuing deeper into New England, we arrive in picturesque Kennebunkport for our lunch break...try some of the local "chowdah" at one of the many restaurants and then sample the many shops and boutiques in this lovely village. We make the Loop Drive for an opportunity to see the George Bush home before leaving the area. Traveling north to Bangor, dinner is a special treat as we try the local cuisine at the Weathervane. DAY 4 ... The morning we motorcoach to the Canadian border, clear customs, and enter the province of New Brunswick. Traveling along the Bay of Fundy, this amazing body of water has the highest tidal change in the World, with a difference of 55 Feet between high and low tides! We stop in Saint John for lunch and a chance to see the Reversing Falls, as the tidal force creates this phenomenon. Our visit to the Maritimes continues as we cross the Straits of Northumberland to Prince Edward Island over the amazing 9 mile Confederation Bridge connecting New Brunswick with PEI. We overnight on the island. We experience an outstanding meal at Fisherman's Wharf, with mussels, lobster, scallops, steak, chicken, and an unbelievable salad bar. (B,D)
DAY 5 ... A local guide will direct us through the tranquil beauty of this smallest Province of Canada with beaches, rolling farmlands, and potato fields. We will stop at a wonderful jam and jelly factory for samples, and later visit the house of "Anne of Green Gables" made famous by the novel of Lucy Maud Montgomery. We ferry back to the mainland and spectacular Cape Breton Island awaits us as we visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum before checking into our Canadian resort for a two night stay near the shores of the Bras D'Or Lakes. Relax and enjoy dinner in our resort's fine restaurant! (B,D)
DAY 6... Today is certainly the most spectacular day of the entire tour, as our motorcoach follows the famed Cabot Trail in a circle of Cape Breton Island, with the mountains meeting the water and forming the ruggedly magnificent coastline! The climbing road up "Old Smoky" offers breath-taking vistas of the surrounding seacoast as we travel along one of the most scenic and beautiful highways in North America! A local guide will provide information, history, and interesting narration all along the way. We'll have a special lunch at the majestic Keltic Lodge, situated on a peninsula jutting into the crashing waves of the North Atlantic, and then continue the scenic loop back to Baddeck where we will enjoy another fine dinner. DAY 7... We travel south through quaint fishing villages and along c
ozy harbors on the Marine Drive to Sherbrooke, a restored village of the 1800's with over 25 buildings and costumed guides. Lunch is in the village at the What Cheer Tea Room and we have time to tour the buildings of the town. Our trail continues through Nova Scotia or "New Scotland", as we arrive in the twin cities of Halifax/Dartmouth for a two night stay. (B,L)
DAY 8... Our tour of Halifax shows us the harbor and the bustling waterfront. We'll see Province House, the oldest parliament building in Canada, and the Citadel, an imposing fortress on the highest hill in the city and the Royal residence of the Queen when in Halifax. We'll circle the peninsula and arrive in picturesque Peggy's Cove, the most photographed lighthouse in Canada with its beautiful coastline! Here lunch is included at the famed Sou'wester before returning to the city. Enjoy the evening, stroll the waterfront, or you might like to try your luck at the casino. (B,L)
DAY 9 ... Our journey takes us to Truro where the group may have a chance to witness the famous Tidal Bore, depending on the times of the tidal change. From here we continue into New Brunswick and follow the St John River to provincial capital of Fredericton. Our group enjoys a tour of this lovely city and spends our last night in Canada. (B,D)
DAY 10... Returning southward, we clear customs and travel back through Maine and the New England states, arriving in the Foxwoods Resort and Casino for the evening. Dinner and breakfast vouchers included. (B,D)
DAY 11... Traveling down the Eastern Seaboard, we return via New York City, cross the Hudson, and continue to Virginia for our final night of this exciting tour. Farewell Dinner. (B,D)
DAY 12... We return home today after a remarkable trip to the Canadian Maritime Provinces of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. (B)
