DAY 3 …  The morning finds us in Nova Scotia, or "New Scotland" and the pride of the Maritime Provinces.  Our crossing of the Bay of Fundy has taken us across the waterway with the highest tidal change in the World, with a difference of 55 Feet between high and low tides!  A short ride along the coastline takes us to Point Eglise to view the oldest and tallest wooden church in North America, and then we enjoy a special luncheon at the elegant Pines Resort.  Our journey takes us along the famed Evangeline Trail immortalized in Longfellow's epic poem of two people separated by the turbulent times, and becomes alive as we visit Grand Pre, a memorial to the native French-speaking people who were deported to the Louisiana Territory as the British rule of the country began.  Later this afternoon, we arrive in the capital city of Halifax for a two night stay. (B,L)

DAY 4 … Our tour of Halifax shows us the harbor and the bustling waterfront.  We'll see Province House, the oldest parliament building in Canada, and the Citadel, an imposing fortress on the highest hill in the city and the Royal residence of the Queen when in Halifax.  We'll circle the peninsula and arrive in picturesque Peggy's Cove, the most photographed lighthouse in Canada with its beautiful coastline!  Lunch is included at the Sou'wester before returning to the city.  (B,L)

DAY 5 … We travel north through quaint fishing villages and along cozy harbors on our drive to spectacular Cape Breton. We arrive in Baddeck at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum for a visit before checking into our Canadian resort for a two night stay near the shores of the Bras D'Or Lakes. Relax and enjoy dinner in our resort's fine restaurant!  (B,D)

DAY 6 …  Today is certainly the most spectacular day of the entire tour, as our motorcoach follows the famed Cabot Trail in a circle of Cape Breton Island, with the mountains meeting the water and forming the ruggedly magnificent coastline!  The climbing road up "Old Smoky" offers breath-taking vistas of the surrounding seacoast as we travel along one of the most scenic and beautiful highways in North America! A local guide will provide information, history, and interesting narration all along the way. We'll have a special lunch at the majestic Keltic Lodge, situated on a peninsula jutting into the crashing waves of the North Atlantic, and then continue the scenic loop back to Baddeck where we will enjoy another fine dinner. (B,L,D)

DAY 7 …  Our visit to the Maritimes continues as we cross the Straits of Northumberland to Prince Edward Island. A local guide will direct us through the tranquil beauty of this smallest Province of Canada with beaches, rolling farmlands, and potato fields.  We will stop at a wonderful jam and jelly factory for samples, and later visit the house of "Anne of Green Gables" made famous by the novel of Lucy Maud Montgomery. Experience an outstanding meal at Fisherman’s Wharf, with mussels, lobster, scallops, steak, chicken, and an unbelievable salad bar.  We will overnight on the island. (B,D)

DAY 8 … After breakfast, we cross the 8 Mile Confederation Bridge that connects PEI to the mainland of New Brunswick. At Tidal Bore Park in Moncton, we hope to witness the Tidal Bore as some of the world’s highest tides ebb and flow here to the Bay of  Fundy. Continuing to St John, a stop is made at the Reversing Falls. We travel on to the border, with a stop at Duty Free, before clearing customs and entering the USA. We overnight in Maine. (B)

DAY 9 … This morning is a special treat as we make our way to the isolated village of Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor lies at the entrance of Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island, the largest rock-based island on the Atlantic Coast. The beauty of the sea, mountains, lakes, and woodlands have painted this region into a summer paradise.  We will tour this natural wonderland, seeing granite cliffs rising from the ocean, peaks bare at their summits, more varieties of wildflowers than can be counted, and Cadillac Mountain, the highest point along the Atlantic coast of the USA, rising 1530 feet above sea level.  Our group stops in Bangor for lunch, before continuing our drive south to the Boston area for our last overnight. (B,L)

DAY 10 … Early morning as we transfer to the Boston/Logan Airport for our flight back to Savannah after a remarkable trip to the scenic coastline of Maine and the Canadian Maritime Provinces of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick.
