MAY 17 FT WORTH STOCKYARDS … Today we fly to the Dallas-Ft Worth metropolitan area to begin our tour. the historic Stockyards of Ft Worth. Here you find the Cowboy Hall of Fame, and a complex of over 25 unique shops, galleries, etc. We arrive in time for the “Cattle Drive” down Main Street, and have dinner at the famous Billy Bob’s. 2 nights in Dallas/Ft Worth area.  (D)

MAY 18WACO … This morning we drive to Waco, the home of Joanna & Chip Gaines and their hit television show on the HGTV Network … THE FIXER UPPER Show. We meet a local guide for a great day of touring. We stop for a visit at the Silos and the Magnolia Marketplace. Chip and Joanna Gaines local businesses include Magnolia Homes, Magnolia Market, Magnolia Seed & Supply, the Silos Baking Co, as well as other ventures. We can see some of the "Fixer Upper" homes, visit Spice Village, a long time local favorite that is located in a 1908 warehouse building and contains 80 individual shops in a fun atmosphere.   Waco is also the home of Dr Pepper. Later in the day we return to Dallas.  (B)

MAY 19 … KENNEDY MEMORIAL … This morning in downtown Dallas we have a chance to visit Dealy Plaza, the President Kennedy Memorial, and the Texas School Book Depository which hid his assassin. After the tour, we head east across Texas and Louisiana and cross the Mississippi River at Natchez, our home for 2 nights.  (B,D) 

MAY 20 ... NATCHEZ … Natchez is situated along the Mississippi River and in the heart of the "cotton belt".  It was here in Natchez that so many of the cotton lords built their palatial homes.  At one time there were more millionaires living here than anywhere else in America.  We enjoy a morning tour of one of these ante-bellum homes, have lunch at the Carriage House of Stanton Hall, and visit another mansion in the afternoon. Enjoy the town, the casino, and sightseeing at leisure during the remainder of the day. (B)

MAY 21 …  VICKSBURG … Not far away is the historic city of Vicksburg, a very important part of the War Between The States. The city is high above the river, and because of its location, monitored and guarded the movement on the Mississippi.  A local guide will join us for a tour of the town and the battlefield.  Then its off across the state to Alabama for our last evening in Birmingham.    (B,D)

MAY 22 … It has been a wonderful trip with so many memories as we return home today. (B)
