TRAIN TO CHARLESTON & MAGNOLIA GARDENS

   The beauty of historic Charleston, South Carolina is magnified in the Springtime with flowering plants, blooming azaleas, and mild climate to go along with the many restored homes of this city founded in 1670 as the southern jewel of the English Colonies. One of its treasures is MAGNOLIA, selected as one of "America's Most Beautiful Gardens", and is the only garden honored with this distinction in the state of South Carolina! Founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, Magnolia Plantation has survived the centures and witnessed the history of our nation unfold before it from the American Revolution through the Civil War and beyond.  It is the oldest public tourist site in the Low Country, and the oldest public gardens in America, opening its doors to visitorsin 1870 to view the thousands of beautifil flowers and plants in its famous gardens.   Our group will ride the train from Savannah to Charleston for a day in this delightful "Old Town". What a great day as we ride the train from Savannah to Charleston, enjoy a delicous lunch, and visit Magnolia Gardens.
