HIGHLIGHTS:  Dillard House, Smoky Mt Center with "ELF", Highlands, Polar Express Train Adventure, Sunday Brunch at the Grove Park Inn, & Lots More  … 5 Meals

DEC 7 …We travel into North Georgia, about as far as you can go without entering North Carolina as we make a dinner stop in Dillard, Georgia.   What a treat as we dine at the DILLARD HOUSE, with tables of delicious food to fill any appetite!  Tonight should get us in a festive spirit as we take our seats at the Smoky Mountain Center for The Performing Arts for a wonderful holiday production.  ELF: THE BROADWAY MUSICAL is based on a story of Buddy, a young orphan, who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. This modern day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear!  (D)

DEC 8 … This morning we drive up the mountain to HIGHLANDS, NC… a hidden jewel situated atop a plateau at elevation 4118 feet, making it one of the highest towns east of the Mississippi River.  It became a retreat for many wealthy families, and golfing great, Bobby Jones, was one of the founders of the Highlands Country Club. You should enjoy the area, and you have plenty of leisure time to explore along Main Street the many shops, boutiques, and galleries.  Later we drive to Bryson City and here we board THE POLAR EXPRESS.  The 1¼ hour round-trip excursion comes to life as the train departs for a journey through the quiet wilderness for a special visit at the North Pole. Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, guests on board will enjoy warm cocoa and a treat while listening and reading along with the magical story. We all should experience the magic of the season when the train arrives at the North Pole to find Santa Claus waiting. Christmas carols will be sung as we return back to the Bryson City Depot.  (B,D)

DEC 9 …  This morning we drive the Smoky Mt Parkway across the mountains to Asheville, NC to the stately and fabulous Grove Park Inn. You will have time to experience this "Grand" hotel of the mountains, dressed in all its Yuletide splendor.  More than 50 festively decorated trees, a display of home-made gingerbread houses, and huge fireplaces with logs aglow all welcome us to the season.  Enjoy the fabulous SUNDAY BRUNCH with plenty of delicious foods and wonderful specialties that will have your mouth watering.  Later we return home after a fantastic Holiday Tour.
