DAY 1  … SEDONA …We meet  for our flight across country as we arrive in Phoenix, Arizona.  Our group will motorcoach north to quaint Sedona, the artist community nestled in the red rock landscape of Arizona.  We spend 2 nights in this scenic area.  Enjoy our Welcome Dinner.. (D)

DAY 2… VERDE CANYON TRAIN … In 1883, the town of Jerome was a booming mining town, and it still retains its old western flavor, with its historic sights and tourist shops.  From Jerome we continue to Clarkdale, where we board the Verde Canyon Train. Our ride takes us through Verde Canyon and to another old mining town, Perkinsville. Tonight is a treat at the Blazin’ M Ranch, with all the roast beef or chicken you can eat, followed by an entertaining western show. (B,D)

DAY 3GRAND CANYON … Our trail continues south with a stop at the Cameron Trading Post for authentic Indian crafts and souvenirs, before arriving at Desert View. We are treated to yet another highlight of our journey west as our group visits one of the greatest natural wonders in the World, the Grand Canyon ...  277 miles long, 10 miles wide, and over 1 mile deep.  We drive from Desert View to the Bright Angel and village along the Canyon. You have some time to browse at the rim, take pictures, before. Later we arrive in Flagstaff for the night.  (B)

DAY 4 ...  MONUMENT VALLEY … This morning we travel to Monument Valley as we enter Utah in route to Moab. We enjoy lunch at Goulding's Lodge in Navajo country before a tour of Monument Valley Tribal Park. You will enjoy fascinating geological and historical information pertaining to this amazing area also known as the “Land of Long Shadows”.  The guides are local Navajos that grew up in and around the Monument Valley area. During the tours, they will share interesting facts about the valley and its areas of interest. You will have the opportunity to stop and gaze at the panorama where John Ford, John Wayne, and countless other historical figures of the Southwest have left their footprints. Don’t forget your camera! Later we travel north to the town of Moab for 2 nights. (B,L)

DAY 5 ARCHES NATIONAL PARK …  Arches National Park is very special … weathering forces have cut natural arches, windows, and spires into the sandstone, the largest found anywhere in America.  So far over 200 openings large enough to be called arches have been discovered. Landscape Arch, believed to be the longest natural stone span in the world has a length of 291 feet. We will visit Devil’s Garden, and the Fiery Furnace, and Tower Arch.  Tonight highlights a BBQ on the banks of the Colorado River followed by a Jet Boat Cruise to witness a magnificent Sound & Light Show over the water on the canyon walls. DAY 6GRAND STAIRCASE, CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK, & BRYCE CANYON … This morning we travel along what is referred to as The Grand Staircase … a geological formation spanning eons of time in a territory of multicolored cliffs, plateaus, mesas, buttes, pinnacles, and canyons.  We witness the cliffs, canyons and domes along Hwy. 24 as we drive through Capitol Reef to the Visitor's Center and on to Escalante for our lunch stop. Our trail takes us into Bryce Canyon, so beautiful with its domes, spires, and temples carved in the rocks as erosion has cut down a thousand feet into the pink and white limestone creating this natural beauty. We overnight in Canyon Country. (B)

DAY 7… ZION … This morning we travel south through the Salt Lake Valley and into the arid deserts that have shaped so many natural wonders, on our way to "Canyon Lands".   We visit one of the spectacular canyons of the Southwest, Zion National Park!  We wind our way deep into a narrow canyon, isolated by towering buttes and mesas...Zion National Park, named by the early Mormon pioneers for its serene setting as a natural refuge.  Lunch at the Lodge.  We'll leave Zion and continue to Las Vegas for 2 nights. DAY 8 … HOOVER DAM … Breakfast and this morning we visit the amazing Hoover Dam for a tour of this engineering marvel that uses the power generated by the Colorado River to produce electricity for this area.  Just the gigantic size of the facility is unbelievable. Later we return to Las Vegas and our hotel. Tonight our group are guests at one of the Strip’s top shows. (B,D)

DAY 9 … Transfer to the airport for our flight home after a wonderful Canyonlands tour. (B)
