DAY 1 ... Traveling west across Georgia and Alabama, we arrive in the "Magnolia State" for a 2 night stay at the exciting Gold Strike
Resort in Tunica, MS. Dinner Buffet upon arrival. Plenty of time to try your luck in the casino. (D)
DAY 2 ... Just a short drive away is Memphis, TN, a city famous for its music traditions. It was here that a musical style, which evolved from the slaves and poor black people along the river, became glamorized ... "The Blues". We have time for lunch on Beale St and take a sightseeing cruise on the Mississippi. Later we return to our resort to relax and enjoy dinner. (B,D)
DAY 3 ... We leave Mississippi, cross the river and travel west across Arkansas. Entering Oklahoma, we stop at the museum of one of the state's most famous native sons...Will Rogers. Then we check into the Hard Rock Resort & Casino in Catoosa, Oklahoma, one of the finest in the state. Dinner included and you can try their games of chance, as we overnight in Indian lands. (B,D)
DAY 4 ... Across the plains and prairies of Oklahoma an
d the Texas panhandle, we will pass pumping oil wells and cattle ranches in route to Amarillo, Texas. Tonight again is a special treat as we experience dinner in grand "Texas" style at the Big Texan Steak House. As seen on the Travel Channel, and voted as one of the top Steak Restaurants in America, if you can eat their 72 ounce steak in a hour, you get it free. (B,D)
DAY 5 ... Our journey takes us into Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. Heading west we approach Royal Gorge, a canyon carved out by the Arkansas River 1000 feet below. The suspension bridge is the highest one in the world. Later we arrive in Colorado Springs for a 2 night stay. (B)
DAY 6 ... Colorado Springs is home to the Air Force Academy located in a spectacular setting. The Chapel consists of 17 glass spires rising 150 feet. We visit here and then drive through the Garden of the Gods, a 1350 acre parkland filled with sandstone formations that have been carved by erosion into unusual sculptures. This afternoon we visit the historic area where prospecting towns formed during the gold mining era and stop in Cripple Creek for lunch. This is your last chance to try your luck in one of the many casinos in this old town. Tonight is a highlight, as we enjoy a show and BBQ dinner at the Flying W Ranch. (B,D)
DAY 7 ... It's time to transfer to the airport for our flight back home after a very unique and exciting travel experience into the Old West! (B)
