HIGHLIGHTS:   "Chicago" at Show Palace,  Strawberry Festival, Luncheon Cruise,  New Smyrna Beach, & lots more ... 5 Meals

MAR 2 … We travel south to the west coastal area of Florida for an entertaining evening of music, dance, & food.  "CHICAGO" the longest running American Musical in Broadway History, will be playing at the Show Palace in Hudson, Florida. Set in the roaring twenties in Chicago, Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal.  We overnight in the area.  (D)

MAR 3 … Breakfast and we continue to Plant City, home of the STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL. You will be amazed at all the food vendors and exhibits, but most of all, the beautiful ripe, sweet strawberries that are everywhere. Each person will have a voucher for Strawberry Shortcake, with some time to enjoy the festival, its food, exhibits, and entertainment.   This is your chance to load up on flats of strawberries to take back.  Later we head to the Atlantic coast to New Smyrna Beach.   Our beachfront location offers easy access to the ocean, shops, restaurants, galleries, and museums. You will stay on quaint Flagler Ave, the main street running from the Intercoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean.  Take a stroll to the beach and discover 13 miles of stunning white sand, or explore the boutiques and galleries and relax with a coffee at one of many sidewalk cafés and ice cream shops along Flagler Ave.   Dinner tonight at the area's most popular restaurant … BLACKBEARDS featuring great seafood and meats, a large salad bar with their famous fish chowdah and cinnamon buns. MAR 4 … A leisure morning in this peaceful setting before we travel to Daytona. Here we board a Paddle Wheeler for a scenic cruise along the Intercoastal Waterway with sightseeing and a delicious Prime Rib Meal before returning home. Great trip, so don't miss it.   (B,L)
