SEP 28BOSTON & THE FREEDOM TRAIL …We travel to the airport for our flight to Boston, and upon arrival are met by an awaiting Motorcoach for a narrated tour of this historic city and the famed “Freedom Trail”.  Early dinner before we check into our hotel.  (D)

SEP 29 … KENNEBUNKPORT … Breakfast, & we continue our drive north into New England, arriving into Maine and its rugged coastline. We see Kennebunkport & view former President George Bush’s home, a fortress jutting out into a rocky harbor. With time for lunch & shopping, we depart in mid-afternoon for one of Maine’s most picturesque coastal villages, Booth Bay Harbor.  Our home for two nights is the charming Tug Boat Inn, situated on the waterfront and in the village of quaint shops, restaurants, & fishing boats. The evening dinner is a highlight as we enjoy a traditional Lobster Bake, with all the trimmings, or a chance to sample other delicious choices from the hotel’s restaurant. (B,D)

SEP 30BOOTH BAY HARBOR … Breakfast, & our pace slows as we enjoy the fishing village of Booth Bay, full of specialty and craft shops. We board a sightseeing boat for a harbor cruise that shows us the many vacation retreats in the area, and literally thousands of lobster buoys promising to yield their delicious treats.  The afternoon is at leisure to relax and refresh in this peaceful setting. Stroll into the many shops scattered around the bay, or walk across the bridge to the Fisherman’s Co-op for fresh steamed seafood on the docks.  (B)

OCT 1MT WASHINGTON … Breakfast, & we travel across the lake region of Maine into the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Passing through scenic Crawford Notch, we can view Mt Washington, highest peak in New England, at 6,288 feet. Here we stop for lunch at the famous Mt Washington Hotel .  Later we continue into the Green Mountains of Vermont for an overnight in the Rutland area.   (B,L)

OCT 2 …  ETHAN ALLEN EXPRESS … Early morning as we travel to the train depot in Rutland, Vermont.  Here we board the “Ethan Allen Express” for the train ride through the scenic Hudson Valley and fabulous fall foliage. Getting off the train in Poughkeepsie, we enjoy a luncheon along the Hudson River and take a narrated tour of West Point before an overnight in New Jersey.   (B,L)

OCT 3 … AMISH COUNTRY … Breakfast and we travel into Pennsylvania for a most interesting stop in Lancaster.  We enjoy a show at one of the theaters followed by an Amish Dinner to top off a great day.  (B,D)
